Walter investigates the death of a wealthy local businessman. The main suspect in the crime is his wife Clea, beneficiary of the life insurance, who asks the reporter for help. The widow's charm triggers the jealousy of her colleague Federica, in love with Walter, and puts the latter's lucidity to the test.
