1917. Walt has lost his legs in battle, but not his spirit. Recovering in hospital back in the States, he is trapped, and surrounded by tragedy. Only his flirtation with Grace, a nurse on his ward, lightens his frustration. Resolving to escape, he takes flight in a bold bid for freedom. But Walt cannot flee his memories of the incident that cost him his legs. Can Walt change his fate by his reckless escape, or will he be rescued from another tragedy?
