A man named Max Willer finds himself walking through a desert wearing a tuxedo and carrying a manual typewriter. He has no idea how he got there, but he encounters a strange group of people in a town he's never heard of, Bonneville Arizona. He tries to figure out what is going on in this strange little town, and ultimately he discovers what the plan is and what his place is in it.
